GENERAL INFORMATION
FABRIC PERFORMANCE/WARRANTY
All our fabrics are sold on the understanding that they meet Australian Standards AS 2663.1–1997 uncoated drapery, AS 2663.2–1999 coated drapery, AS 2663.3–1999 Vertical & Holland Blinds and AS 2678–1997 regarding colour fastness, after care cleaning, dimensional change due to cleaning or movement after hanging and atmospheric pressure.
Please note that in the production of fabric, variances can occur to pattern repeats, together with fabric being off grain of which a tolerance of 3% of the fabric width can be expected.
Our warranty covers fabric and manufacture for a period of twelve (12) months. No claims will be recognised after this period for labour. Fabric claims will be recognised within a given time of twenty-four [24] months if they do not perform to the Textile Standard and Guidelines of Australian Standards AS 2663.1–1997, AS 2663.2–1999, AS 2663.3–1999 and AS 2678–1999. No claims will be recognised for fading of fabric on leading edges of curtains where they are exposed to sunlight.
PLEASE NOTE
All fabrics will adjust to the environment and environmental changes in which they have been hung. We recommend an allowance of +3% for possible movement after drapes have been hung on site.
How To Care For Wilson Fabrics
1. Curtains should be lined when subjected to strong sunshine. Lining improves the appearance and ensures longer life of curtains.
2. Entrust the cleaning of your furnishings only to reputable dry cleaners or laundries who specialise in home furnishings.
3. Be tolerant of small fluctuations in lengths of curtains. Fabrics are never completely stable. They breathe and absorb moisture, reacting to atmosphere changes, resulting in stretching or shrinking.
4. If dust is allowed to accumulate in curtains, it will shorten the life span. Regular vacuuming with the appropriate attachment will overcome this.
5. It is reasonable to expect about 3% movement in curtains. This would amount to about 9cms in a 3 metre long curtain, depending on the fabric involved. A good safeguard is to simply tack the base hem and leave the curtain hanging for approximately 3 months before making any adjustments.
Manufacturing of Fabric
(i) Where fabrics are available both in uncoated and coated combinations, the same fabric should be used, due to possible colour change caused by the coating, for example in making curtains and bedspreads use the uncoated fabric only.
(ii) We do not recognise any claim for fabric that has been used as Roman Blinds due to fabric movement. If fabrics are to be used for Roman Blinds they should be preshrunk to improve stability and movement. If used as a Roman Blind we strongly suggest the fabric is preshrunk before manufacture and it is your decision to use fabric for this purpose and we will not accept any claims or responsibility for furnishing fabrics to be made into Roman Blinds. We suggest you select a Blind fabric from the Wilson Window Blinds Fashion Collection.
(iii) All fabrics are subject to some degree of fading caused through direct, indirect or reflected sunlight. This is particularly of concern with Roman Blinds that can have flat areas exposed to sunlight which may appear in bands across the face and leading side or base edges. These areas are most susceptible to fading as the sun moves in its orbit. No claims will be recognised for fading due to fabric being exposed to sunlight when manufactured into Roman Blinds.
